Principles and Reasons

In an era when the world is undergoing rapid social, economic, and cultural transformations, the preservation of cultural and artistic heritage serves as a crucial foundation for sustaining the “identity of humanity” and strengthening the spiritual stability of societies. Culture is not merely a reflection of a nation’s history and wisdom but also a symbolic force that harmoniously connects diverse ethnicities, beliefs, and ways of life. Therefore, promoting processes of cultural conservation and development through the dimension of art becomes an essential mechanism for fostering mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence within cultural diversity.
With this vision, the RSS International Creative Arts Workshop and Exhibition was initiated as a collaborative endeavor among four academic institutions:
- Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi
- Rajamangala University of Technology Isan
- Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna
- Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University
The project aims to establish a platform for international exchange of artistic knowledge and experiences through workshops, art talks, and creative exhibitions. It provides an open space for artists, scholars, and students to co-create, share, and learn together based on mutual respect for cultural diversity and artistic differences.
This year, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, has the honor of serving as the main host of the event RSS 16th International Creative Arts Workshop and Exhibition under the concept of “The New World of Arts”. This initiative aligns with the Faculty’s core mission to transmit, foster, and advance education through art and culture, as well as to provide academic services to the community in the field of fine arts. The Faculty also strives to become a national and international learning hub for arts and culture. Furthermore, it emphasizes creating “alternative art spaces for communities” and promoting socially engaged art that enhances cultural awareness and appreciation of true cultural values.
Particularly, the Faculty seeks to cultivate students’ skills, attitudes, and aesthetic sensibilities, enabling them to apply art and culture appropriately in daily life. Education that promotes understanding of cultural diversity and the changing dynamics of global society encourages individuals to think critically, analyze creatively, and adapt wisely to cross-cultural influences. Consequently, this project extends the Faculty’s mission by strengthening international cultural cooperation and fostering a “Cultural Space” that welcomes contemporary artistic exchanges—through knowledge, creative works, and artist networks—while continuously elevating Thai art and cultural values onto the global stage.
In conclusion, the RSS International Creative Arts Workshop and Exhibition serves as an important platform for learning, exchange, and cultural development, integrating the dimensions of education, art, and society. It fosters collaboration at both national and international levels to preserve Thai cultural identity, while promoting the sustainable growth of the creative economy grounded in culture and the intrinsic values of humanity.
